We offer private glassblowing workshops and events.

Cheers!

While visiting the studio, you will first get a tour of the space to get a better feel for the equipment that will be leading you along your glassblowing experience. Be prepared for the heat and to truly appreciate a beverage in your soon-to-be-favorite glass as our studio artists guide you through the techniques of glassblowing in front of the 2000 degree furnace. You will each take turns working with the glass by learning to take a gather with the punty, marvering the molten glass and then shaping the glass using the appropriate hand tools to create your very own piece of handcrafted barware!

Glassblowing itself as a craft is based on working in a team. It is strongly recommend reserving this private experience with another guest. This unique experience will last approximately 3 hours for two people. You will receive the piece created by our studio artist in your demonstration, as well as your creation for containing your favorite libation! The pieces created will be made using clear soda lime glass, sought after for its sparkle and clarity – please only wash your new pieces by hand using a mild soap and lukewarm water.
As a team we are committed to safety and have pledged to uphold the Go Safely Initiative set up by Visit Detroit per COVID-19 requirements to keep everyone healthy. As you will be working with the glass at high temperatures, it is best to wear cotton clothing, safety glasses (provided) and close-toed shoes.

Cost: $550 + creation, per guest
Creations include: $100 Rocks Glass / $100 Stemless Wine Glass / $100 Pint Glass.
Availability: We have found it is best to be flexible with the scheduling of the experience, so please reach out to the studio to discuss. The experience will last approximately 3 hours. Your pieces will be available for pickup within 48 hours of cooling down in the annealer, or can be shipped.

The Gang's All Here

Turn up the heat and watch your guests be ‘Blown Away’ as yourself and 4 guests enjoy an exclusive tour of the studio, explaining the tools and equipment used during your glassblowing experience guided by our talented studio artisans. You will each take turns working in front of the 2000 degree furnace to create your own piece of glass art.
