tonight is the dedication ceremony for april’s sculpture ‘le gardin pour efants’ at the flint institute of music. the dedication will be followed by a black tie dinner and the season opening performance of the flint symphony orchestra. the flint institute of music commissioned april to create this piece for the enclosed atrium of their main entrance. comprised of over 20 hand blown glass flowers and grasses on a mirrored amorphic shaped base, the piece has a whimsical dr suess meets little shop of horrors feel to it.
