“and that upon your willingness to sacrifice and endure as those before you have sacrificed and endured rests the national hope.” – Charles Evans Hughes

our responsibility as artists extends to understanding, interpreting and acknowledging all the facets of life around us. we must do this or fall short of having anything meaningful to say.

what there was to say before sept 11, 2001 no longer seems valid. we have been offered, as the most powerful country in the world, a chance to truly reflect on things not recently prominent. not for this generation, my generation. a window in time has opened to allow us to again define what words like freedom and unity really mean. as citizens and artists we cannot allow this chance to pass without comment.

and this is our comment, it hangs before you to consider, respond, and reflect upon.

the foundation of unity resides in the individual. We are each fragile, like glass. unique, in that we are one of a kind like these ornaments, defined by our own thoughts, opinions, and feelings. this is our freedom. we come together in the image of our flag to sanctify and ratify our understanding that our differences do not take precedence over our similarities. and we are proud of it.

it is our responsibility to not only comment on these events, but to contribute monetarily. for every one of these commemorative ornaments sold, we will donate 10% to the American Red Cross.

help us in healing each other, and our country, together.
