Our furnace is running low on glass, so it’s time to charge again! Batch is raw powder comprising the different chemicals which when melted form glass. However, the raw powders in batch can be dangerous to breathe. You can either mix your own batch, or purchase it already mixed.

We love ordering and receiving new colors here at epiphany studios. Every time we get new colors in, we make test color samples so we know what each color REALLY looks like! Looks can be deceiving!

GHIACCIO A decoration consisting in an apparent cracking of the surface of blown glass, obtained by dipping it in water during the working procedure. The reaction which occurs, a sort of “puckering” , produces an “icy” effect. This technique has been known since at least the XVIIIth century.

Yikes Stripes!
stripes are not just for zebras… The black color is melted and shaped then applied to the white piece. When the piece is finished it will be white with black stripes!

SCAGNO The glass master’s bench. A simple wooden bench, with two parallel bars.
